During the mid to late 80s, popular Taiwanese actress Lin Hsiao Lou starred in a series of three films based on the Japanese folk tale Momotaro. Referenced in numerous films, dramas, and books, the story tells of a couple who discover a boy with magical powers inside a giant peach, and adopt him as their son. Directed by Chiu Chung Hing, Child of Peach was released in 1986, and its sequel Magic of Spell (a.k.a. Child of Peach 2) came soon after. Filled with high-flying action and old school special effects, Magic of Spell is a classic, yet zany tale of good vs. evil that entertains on many levels.
