Devised by Dixon of Dock Green creator Ted Willis, Hunters Walk shared several similarities with the classic 1950s police drama ñ in particular a small-town setting, and storylines encompassing the more human aspects of police work.
Based at a police station in a fictional Midlands town, Hunters Walk offered a contrasting alternative to the 1970ís more hard-hitting, action-led urban crime dramas. Its small, idiosyncratic team of officers face a typically broad spectrum of cases, from neighboursí disputes and hooliganism to suspected murder.
Offering an authentic portrayal of provincial police work ñ a premise later regaining in popularity with series like Juliet Bravo ñ Hunters Walk features excellent scripts by Roger Marshall (Public Eye) and Peter J. Hammond (Sapphire and Steel) among other noted writers. This release contains all the existing episodes of Hunters Walk that remain in the archive. 3 DVD's.
